Templates Overview
Templates let you save and reuse common elements across drawings, saving time when working with repeated avionics, connectors, or entire sheet layouts.
Types of Templates
LRU Templates (User Templates)
LRU templates capture an entire LRU along with its connectors and pins. Once saved, you can quickly add that same LRU configuration to any future drawing without manually recreating it.
LRU templates can be made public so other SkyWire Studio users can discover and use them, or kept private for your own use.
Block Templates
Block templates capture an entire sheet as a reusable block. This is useful when you have a standard layout — such as a commonly used subsystem — that you want to drop into multiple drawings.
Block templates include a thumbnail preview so you can visually identify them when browsing.
Admin Templates
Admin templates are system-level templates managed by SkyWire Studio administrators only. They are the templates that appear in the built-in template library when adding LRUs or connectors (e.g., standard avionics units with all their pinouts pre-configured). End users can use these templates but cannot create or modify them.
