Line Annotations

The Line tool lets you draw lines on your diagram with optional arrowheads, dots, labels, and colors.

Drawing a Line

1. Select the Line tool from the annotation section of the toolbar.
2. Click and drag on the canvas. A preview line appears as you drag.
3. Release to place the line.

Editing Vertices

Hover over a line to reveal vertex handles at each endpoint. Drag a handle to reposition that end of the line.

• Grid snapping — when Snap to Grid is enabled, vertices snap to the nearest grid point as you drag.
• Angle snapping — hold Shift while dragging a vertex to constrain the angle to 45-degree increments relative to the other endpoint.

Termination Styles

Each end of the line can have one of three termination styles:

Style	Description
None	Plain endpoint (default)
Arrowhead	Triangular arrowhead pointing in the line's direction
Dot	Filled circle at the endpoint

To change a termination style, right-click the line and select from the Start or End options. A checkmark indicates the currently active style.

Colors

Right-click the line and select Set Color to open the color picker. You can set:

• Primary color — the main stroke color.
• Secondary color — when set to a different color from the primary, the line renders with a striped two-color effect (primary solid with secondary dashed overlay).

Dashing

Dashed line styles are configured through the color picker. A single-color dashed line displays alternating solid and blank segments.

Labels

Adding a Label

Right-click the line and select Label Line. Enter the text in the rename dialog and confirm.

The label appears at the midpoint of the line, rotated to follow the line's direction. Text is automatically flipped to remain readable (never upside-down).

Moving a Label

Drag the label to reposition it. When the label is within snapping distance of the line, it clamps to the nearest point on the line and rotates to match the line's angle. Drag it further away to detach it and position it freely.

Clearing a Label

Right-click the line and select Clear Label to remove it.

Moving the Line

Click and drag the line body (not a vertex handle) to move the entire line. When Snap to Grid is enabled, the line's origin snaps to the grid.
